In what would become the Internet we use today, Nikola Tesla predicted the emergence of a "world wireless system" back in the early 1900s. The parallels between his predictions and today's forecasting of the metaverse are somewhat similar. The only difference is that the world-changing introduction of the Internet came about because of the hard work and individual philanthropy of dedicated computer scientists, programmers, and engineers throughout the mid to late 20th century.
